Multipurpose Hall
Services to new multipurpose hall and adjacent rezeption room
The hall was intended to act as a general assembly area but also provide facilities for indoor sports and staged performances.
As well as the electrical services to the main hall area, services were also provided to two small storage areas visible in the distance and a Reception area located to the left of this view.
A specialist supply was provided to the stage lighting system which can be seen
in the photograph.
Main area lighting was provided via 400W semi recessed high pressure mercury
luminaries, with a number of these being fitted with auxiliary lamps for
immediate illumination of the area on switching.
Due to the roof structure of the Reception Room lighting had to be provided by high output uplighters.
During the course of the contract modifications were also made to an adjacent boiler room which had to be upgraded as part of the Mechanical contract and supplies were installed to various extraction units located both in the ceiling tiles and one the external walls providing both intake and extract facilities.
As usual modifications were required to the existing emergency lighting and
fire alarm installations to comply with the requirements in place at the time
of construction.
