Traditional Estimating

Having prepared estimates in the past for projects ranging from single houses to schools, retail developments, nursing homes etc the decision to offer a take off and estimating services was considered another service in the range offered to our Clients.

Traditional Take Offs

The availability of digital drawings at Tender Stage is not always an option and therfore the traditional methods for taking off quantities and lengths is necessary.

However to reduce the time required for this process various estimators software and associated tools are available one such tool allowing lengths to be directly and automatically measured, scaled and sent directly to proprietary estimating software or simple spreadsheet.

Digital Estimating

For projects where CAD drawings are made available in digital format at tender stage, on trial / under development is an Autocad based system allowing tender drawings to be imported and all symbols inserted in the drawing converted to real 3D entities.

This allows a bill of quantities to be generated by "click and learn" technology, accurate cable lengths, trunking, conduits to be measured both for use within either an estimating package or exported to supported cable calculation software.

Software

As with many of the services offered completed take off sheets are returned via a broadband Internet connection for final comment and mark up by the Client either in a currently used Estimating Software format, or as an excel spreadsheet pdf file.
